I plan to texlax soon, but may go a little straighter this time. I am afraid my relaxer may be expired. I currently use Vitale High Comfort relaxer with beautiful results, but purchased it about a year ago.I called the company and was told that unopened Vitale has a 2 year shelf life, but opened, about 4 months. It has been opened since I used it in March of 09.( I usually stretch about 6 months at a time).
It does not smell weird to me, but I don't want to take any chances. The BSS I originally bought it from no longer sells it, and I wonder if you need a license to purchase.
Does anyone else use this, or know where to buy it? Or, are there any other current or former Vitale users who have found success with another relaxer? I seem to have better luck with lye, and would like to find something similar to Vitale if I can't get it. Please help.
The Ultimate Hydrating Neutralizing Shampoo, natural humectants infuse Moisture Bonded Neutralizing Shampoo. Its buffered balancing and chelating agents ensure total removal of relaxer residues while facilitating body and softness. Energize hair with intrafiber moisturization, detangling, and removal of alkaline residues deposited by no-lye relaxer. Moisture Bonded’s ingredients deposit moisture deep within each hair fiber; amino acids constrict and close cuticles. Overall, it reduces breakage caused by harsh chemicals (i.e., relaxers, hair color). A convenient color signal indicates neutralization is complete. Usage: Apply Moisture Bonded Neutralizing Shampoo on top of Afterglow Normalizer and work into rich lather. Rinse and Repeat. If pink color is evident in foam or rinsing water, apply a third time and rinse.
